Sherri Lynn Pleak, 51, of St. Paul, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at Heritage House of Shelbyville, surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born October 1, 1962, in Franklin, the daughter of John and Janet (Lovitt) Stuckey.
Sherri is survived by her loving parents of Shelbyville; brother, Jeffery Scott Pleak and wife, Gina of Columbus; nephews, Jared Pleak and Jalen Pleak, both of Columbus; uncle, Jerry Lovitt and wife, Chris of Shelbyville; cousins, Chad Lovitt and family and Michelle McGinn and family; and many special friends, including her childhood friend, Patty Campbell and husband, Columbus of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Claude and Delorise Lovitt and Lloyd and Dorothy Stuckey.
Sherri was a lifelong Shelby County resident, who enjoyed riding, dancing and hanging out with friends. She loved to hear the rumble of a Harley. Sherri was a tender-hearted person, who was always concerned for other people, more than herself.
She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1981.
Sherri was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Indiana Federation of Business and Professional Women/Shelbyville, ABATE and Eagles Aerie Lodge # 766.
She was employed in the office at Indiana Grand Casino, throughout the years she had several other clerical jobs.
Sherri volunteered for numerous groups and organizations, and was always more than willing to help with a cause.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2014 at the funeral home, with Pastor Beth Crouch officiating.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
