Shirley Ann Tucker, 79, of Avon Park, Florida, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at her daughter’s residence in Shelbyville. Born November 6, 1932, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Woodrow Craig and Alberta A. (Crouch) Sconce. She married Marvin L. Metz on February 15, 1950, and he preceded her in death on July 18, 1976. She married Paul Tucker in September of 1989, and he also preceded her in death on November 3, 1997. Survivors include her daughter, Claudia (husband, Michael) Neu of Shelbyville; son, Matthew (wife, Stephanie) Metz of Dover, Pennsylvania; sister, Bonnie (husband, Robert) Bryant of Fairland; grandchildren, Brad Stauffer, Chris Neu, Lauren Metz-Ryan, Riley Metz, Kirbie Metz, Truman Metz and Tennison Metz; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Shaelyn. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Abram Metz. Mrs. Tucker was an office manager at Rytex Corporation in Indianapolis, retiring in 1982. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1950. Mrs. Tucker was a member of the First Baptist Church and attended the First Christian Church in Shelbyville and St. John's United Methodist Church in Avon Park. She was also a member of VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries in Shelbyville. She loved to travel, do stain glass projects and spend time with her friends and family. Graveside services will be at 11 am, Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Forest Hill Cemetery, 704 Morris Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made to Decatur/Shelby County Hospice, 1201 N.
