Shirley Margaret (Price) Dewhurst, 78, of Greensburg, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Waldron Health and Rehabilitation in Waldron.
She was born April 1, 1937, in Carroll, Ohio, the daughter of Glenn and Nellie (Saxton) Price. She married George David Dewhurst Sr. on December 24, 1959, and he preceded her in death.
Shirley is survived by sons, Robert R. Dewhurst and wife, Marilyn, of Greensburg and George D. Dewhurst Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Shelbyville; daughters, Evelyn M. England and husband, Jim, of Shelbyville and Kimberly G. Burton and husband, David, of Waldron; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ricky M. Dewhurst; three brothers; and seven sisters.
Shirley graduated from Carroll High School in Carroll, Ohio.
She attended Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.
Shirley formerly volunteered at the Shelbyville-Shelby County Humane Society, and she loved german shepherds.
She enjoyed fishing and crocheting.
Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Cornerstone Christian Fellowhship, 7414 E. Michigan Road in Waldron.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Thursday at the church, with Pastor George Mitchell officiating.
Interment will be at Hebron Cemetery in Adams.
Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
