Shirley R. Moore, 77, of Franklin, formerly of Shelbyville and Lawrenceburg, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Franklin United Methodist Community.
Born May 8, 1935, in Sweetwater, Texas, she was the daughter of Lydus and Signe (Beito) Bramblett. She married H. E. “Sonny” Moore, and he preceded her in death on November 19, 1994.
Survivors include her sons, Van Moore of Berne and Dan (wife, Paulette) Moore of Lawrenceburg; daughters, Sheila (husband, Tom) Hinton of New Palestine and Sandra (husband, John) Becraft of Shelbyville; two brothers; one sister; grandchildren, Joshua Loe, Tara Burcham, Nathan Ricketts, Micheal Ricketts, Danny Becraft and Melissa Moore; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Tim Moore in 1989; and two brothers.
Shirley graduated from Greensburg High School in 1953.
She was the matron of Shelby Manor from 1984 to 1995.
Mrs. Moore enjoyed gardening, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and football.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Graveside services and Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in Van Pelt Cemetery, with Chaplain David Lee officiating.
