Shirley Veronica Donahue, 84, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Rosegate Village in Indianapolis. She was born December 2, 1929, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Ralph and Josephine (Smith) Brouse. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Theresa Brickens of Indianapoliis, Veronica McGhee and Angela Donahue Wykoff, both of Shelbyville and Bridget Schilling and husband, Butch of Spring City, Tennessee; son, Christopher Donahue and wife, Katrina, of Fairland; sisters, Elizabeth Lopez of Plainfield and Dorothy Raby of Knoxville, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cecilia Donahue; sisters, Eileen Shuler and Nancy Brouse; and brother, Thomas Brouse. Shirley graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Indianapolis. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Shirley retired from Target in 2004, after 30 years of service. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and ceramics. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville, with the rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St. in Shelbyville. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Indianapolis.
