Stephan Edward "Steve" Singleton, 62, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, June 25, 2010 at his residence.
Born September 27, 1947 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Robert H. Singleton and Mary L. (Allison) Singleton Sweet. He married Carol S. Bowers on April 29, 1972, and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughter, Stephanie M. Singleton of Shelbyville; grandson, Jarrod Singleton of Shelbyville; step-mother, Jan Singleton of Florence, South Carolina; brother, Bob Singleton of Shelbyville; step-brother, Kevin (wife, Jamie) Borchers of Columbia, South Carolina; step-sisters, Vicki (husband, Jerry) Fletcher of Greenville, Florida, Pam (husband, Johnny) Eaddy of Florence, South Carolina, Paula (husband, Paul) Bullard of Rush County and Peggy (husband, Danny) Bowers of St. Paul; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Singleton had worked as a press operator for the last 26 years at Standard Register.
He was a member of Poor Boys Car Club. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, classic cars, car shows and working in his yard; but most importantly he loved spending time with his grandson "Jarrod".
Mr. Singleton graduated from Smithcotton High School, Sedalia, Missouri in 1965.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
