Stephen Eugene Eck, 69, of Fairland passed away Friday, March 30, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital and Health Center.
Born March 5, 1943, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, he was the son of Millard and Mary Frances (Pollitt) Eck. He married Robert "Bobbie" Davis on June 1, 1968, and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughters, Jennifer (husband, Chris) Campbell of Franklin and Alisha (husband, Craig) Jackson of Gunnison, Colorado; son, Chris (wife, Lisa) Eck of Boggstown; sisters, Patsy (husband, John) Hart of Columbus, Georgia and Pam (husband, Jay) Keffaber of Freetown; brother, Bruce (wife, Linda) Eck of Fairland; grandchildren, Abigail Eck, Allison Eck, Andi Eck and Cash Eck, all of Boggstown, Casey Campbell, EmiLou Campbell and Coleman Campbell, all of Franklin, and Bunk Jackson, Ellie Jackson, Molly Jackson and Cade Jackson, all of Gunnison, Colorado; and two nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Eck was a lifelong Shelby County resident and a farmer.
He graduated from Triton High School in 1961 and from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture Economics in 1965.
Mr. Eck was a member of Boggstown Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Boggstown Presbyterian Church, 2488 N. Sand Creek Road in Boggstown.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Sandi Martin and Rev. Ken Howard officiating.
Private graveside services will be observed.
