Stephen Michael Zahnd

Stephen Michael Zahnd, 63, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville. He was born December 28, 1955 in Indianapolis, the son of Ernest Ray and Esther Marie (Crandall) Zahnd. Stephen is survived by his sister, Patricia A. Proctor and husband, Bill, of Mooresville; brothers, Charles E. Zahnd, Joseph D. Zahnd and wife, Patsy, and Paul L. Zahnd, all of Fairland; grandchildren, Aryah Zahnd, Dylan Zahnd and Clayton Zahnd; and nieces and nephews, Carolyn Singer of Shelbyville, Joseph P. Zahnd of Fairland, William C. Proctor of Mooresville and Margaret C. Proctor-Lyles of Mooresville. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sons, Ryan Zahnd and Eric Zahnd. Stephen attended Triton Central High School. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Stephen was formerly a farmer and carpenter. He enjoyed fishing. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at El Bethel in Pilot Knob. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E.
