Steven Eugene Crafton, 63, a lifelong Shelbyville resident, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born November 16, 1949, in Shelbyville, to Lavron E. and Barbara L. (Voris) Crafton. He married Deborah S. Smith on September 18, 1969, and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Coleman of Shelbyville; son, Steven "Scott" (wife, Elsa) Crafton of St. Augustine, Florida; sisters, Patti Sturgis of Waldron, Karen Higdon of Clarkson, Kentucky and Christy Nasby of New Palestine; brother, Gary (wife, Penny) Crafton of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Christina, Joshua, Jeremy and Hunter; great-grandchildren, Jillian and Colton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Sherry Norris.
Steve graduated from Triton High School in 1968.
He served in the US Navy for four years, being honorably discharged in June of 1973.
Steve worked in the dairy department at Kroger retiring in 2012, after 42 years of service.
He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.
Steve loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Friday, June 21, 2013 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery.
