Steven Robert Asher

Steven Robert Asher, 62, of Edinburgh, passed away, Saturday, January 4, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 2, 1951, in Johnson County, the son of Robert F. and Susan L. (Krise) Asher. On July 3, 1974, he married Rose Cowin, and she survives. Other survivors include his daughters, Chanda Asher of Shelbyville, Chevon Burton and Catie Asher, both of Franklin, Casey Asher of Whiteland and Cheyanna Asher and Chayla Asher, both of Edinburgh; sons, Chris Asher, Chad Asher, Corey Asher and Cody Asher, all of Edinburgh; sister, Debbie Swint of Bremen; brother, Stanley Asher of Edinburgh; nine grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Courtney Asher. Steven graduated from Hauser High School in 1969. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, serving during Vietnam. Steven loved spending time with his family and would do anything for anyone. Graveside services will be at 11:30 am, Thursday, January 9, 2013 at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County. Memorial contributions may be made to Steven R. Asher Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
