Sudie C. Burdine

Sudie C. Burdine, 88, of Fountaintown died Sunday, August 1st, 2010, at her home. Born November 14, 1921, in Bernstadt, Ky., she was the daughter of George and Almira (Hash) Baker. She married John R. Burdine on October 14, 1952, and he preceded her in death on July 29, 1999. Survivors include her sons, Doug (wife, Dawn)Burdine of Indianapolis, John (wife, Venessa)Burdine and Tim Burdine, both of Fairland, and Joe Burdine (companion, Lori Leigh) of Avon; daughters, Gwen (husband, the late Doug) Keene of Phoenix, Arizona, and Brenda (husband, Andy) Utz of Pickerington, Ohio; sister, Marie Harris of London, Kentucky; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, with another one on the way. She also was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, 10 sisters, and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Burdine was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, crafts, gardening, cooking and fishing. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison Street. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
