Tammy Lynette (Hurley) Israel, 49, of Fairland passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 at her residence.
Born September 29, 1962, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of William Harrison and Phyllis Jean (Anderson) Hurley.
Survivors include her parents of Fairland; daughter, Tiffany Lynn (Israel) Byrd of Fairland; brother, Robert W. Hurley of Fairland; grandsons, Jerred Mencer and Caleb Butler; great-granddaughter, Zoey Proctor Mencer; uncle, Ed (wife, Carolyn) Hurley of Shelbyville; and aunt, Marie Bastin of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Amos and Susie Hurley and Paul and Esther Anderson; and several aunts and uncles including Bernard Anderson.
Tammy was a lifelong resident of Shelby County and graduated from Triton Central High School in 1980.
She was currently employed at Indiana Grand and had formerly worked at USA Funds (formerly Sallie Mae) for 28 years.
Tammy was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Franklin.
She enjoyed shopping, talking with friends and spending time with family.
Tammy also leaves behind her dog, Brutus.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the funeral home, with Pastor Fred Brown officiating.
Interment will be in Boggstown Cemetery.
