Terese Marie Wendel

Terese Marie Wendel, 59, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. Born September 24, 1951, in Ottawa, Illinois, she was the daughter of Elmer and Elizabeth (Wentz) Gunderson. She married James "Jim" Wendel on June 15, 1974, and he survives. Other survivors include her father and fiance, Shirley Sokn of Marseilles; daughters, Katrina E. (fiance, Piotr Mitoraj) Wendel of Tampere, Finland and Mollie A. Wendel of Helotes, Texas; son, Andrew E. (wife, Kristin) Wendel of Tolar, Texas; brother, Knute O. (wife, Diana) Gunderson of Plainfield, Illinois and sister, Lisa A. (husband, Thomas) Nars of Wheeling, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her mother and twin sister, Dorothy Ann Gunderson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 East Broadway Street in Shelbyville, with Father Chris Craig officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Wednesday, April 20 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 South Harrison Street in Shelbyville, with the rosary recited at 8 pm. Visitation in Illinois will be from 4 to 8 pm, Monday, April 25, 2011 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home, 1009 East Bluff Street in Marseilles, Illinois, with the rosary recited at 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am, Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 Broadway, Marseilles, Illinois, with Monsignor Brian Rejsek officiating.
