Thelma R. Conover, 94, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Heritage House of Shelbyville.
She was born July 26, 1922, in Homer, the daughter of Wilfred and Exie (Rose) Grocox. She married Lawrence J. Conover, and he preceded her in death.
Thelma is survived by her son, Roger Conover of Shelbyville; grandson, Gary Trent Conover and wife, Dolores, of Austin, Texas; great-grandchild, Jaxon Conover of Austin, Texas; nieces, Lynda Denton and husband, Charles, Bonnie Hardesty and husband, Glen, and Beverly Means and husband, the late Paul Means, all of Shelbyville; nephew, Robert Hall and wife, Mardell, of Granger; cousins, Donna (Rose) Adkins and Marlene Rose, both of Shelbyville, and Rosetta (Rose) Melvin of Indianapolis; and great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Norma L. LaMee; and grandson, Phillip William Conover.
Thelma graduated from Shelbyville High School.
She attended and was a member of Grace Wesleyan Church.
Thelma was a housewife and formerly an inspector at Admiral Corporation.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
