Thelma V. Brown

Thelma V. Brown, 93, of Morristown passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Morristown Manor. Born October 12, 1914, in Adams County, she was the daughter of William S. and Cora Belle (Brunbaugh) Wilson. She married Garnett E. "Brownie" Brown on July 27, 1936, and he survives. Other Survivors include her daughter, Judi A. (husband, Calvin) Kennedy of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; grandchildren, James Edward (wife, Julie) McMichael of Greenfield and Melissa (husband, Todd) Doane of Myrtle Beach; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virgie Irene Johnson. Mrs. Brown had been a school teacher in Adams County from 1935 to 1936 and employed at Naval Avionics in Indianapolis from 1968 until retiring in 1978. She graduated from Hartford Township High School in 1931 and Ball State University in 1934. Mrs. Brown was a member of Morristown Christian Church for more than 50 years. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm Sunday at Freeman Family Funera Homes, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Monday at the Morristown Christian Church, 209 S. Washington St. in Morristown, with Jim Coyle officiating. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown. Memorial contributions may be made to Morristown Christian Church, Post Office Box 387, Morristown, IN 46161.
