Thomas L. “Tommy” Dennison, Jr., 75, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at Greenfield Healthcare Center in Greenfield.
He was born February 15, 1943, in Shelbyville, the son of Thomas L. Dennison Sr. and Ellen M. (Wickliff) Stroup. On January 14, 1966, he married his wife of 52 years, Drucilla “Dru” Smith, and she preceded him in death on May 26, 2018.
Tom is survived by his sons, Kevin Dennison of Waldron, and David D. Dennison and wife, Terri, of Shelbyville; daughters, Dee A. Thoman and husband, Eric, and Marilyn M. DeWitt, both of Shelbyville, and Tammy A. Wagner and husband, Mike, of Rushville; sister, Anita K. Holbert of Apache Junction, Arizona; brothers, Garnett R. Dennison of Fairland and Mike R. Dennison of Edinburgh; daughter-in-law, Mamie Welch; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to Dru, Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Deborah Jo Dennison and Jean Pugh.
Tom graduated from Southwestern High School in 1961.
He was a supervisor at TRW Cinch for over 25 years and Knauf Insulation for 18 years, retiring in 2005. After retirement, he worked at Indiana Grand Casino in security.
Tom was a founding member of Quail Forever Shelby County.
He enjoyed hunting.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2018 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
