Van L. Hauk, 81, of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010, at his home.
Born January 26, 1929, in Shelby County, he was the son of Otra and Lois (Poer) Hauk. He married Peggy Ann Willey on July 5, 1952, and she survives.
Other survivors include his sons, Gregory (wife, Cindy) Hauk of Cleveland, Ohio, and Jeffery Hauk of Pittsboro, Indiana; daughter, Jennifer Sue (husband, Todd) Kampstra of Spicer, Minnesota; grandchildren, Brian (wife, Kristina) Hauk, Brad (wife, Stephanie) Hauk, Matthew (wife, Laura) Hauk, Nicholus Hauk, Steven Hauk, Megan Kampstra and Elizabeth Kampstra; and great-grandson, Caspain Kampstra.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Jeanne Robertson.
Mr. Hauk lived in Morristown and Fort Wayne until moving to Oconomowoc in 1968.
He was formerly the operations manager for N.A.P.A. Distribution Center in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, retiring with more than 41 years of service. He also formerly worked for L.V. Hauk Funeral Home.
Mr. Hauk was a U.S.. Army veteran of the Korean War, last serving in 1952.
He graduated from Morristown High School in 1947.
Mr. Hauk was a member of Morristown Christian Church, where he was on the cradle roll.
He enjoyed golfing, ping pong and playing the drums in dance bands.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.,
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Farnsley officiating and Rev. Michael Farnsley assisting.
Interment will be in Bennett Cemetery, with military rites conducted.
