Verley A. Plymate,69, of Fairland, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Center in Indianapolis.
Born March 1, 1938, in Fairland, he was the son of Francis W. Plymate and Catherine I. (Anderson) Roan. He married Shirley Plymate on March 12, 1973, and she survives.
Other survivors include his son, Verley A. "Augie" Anderson Plymate; brother, Russell (wife, Katherine) Roan Jr. of Shelbyville; sister, Edna Marie (husband, Ray) Sweet of Greensburg; two grandchildren; nephew, Francis Plymate II of Fairland, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roy W. Plymate Sr.
Mr. Plymate was a lifelong Shelby County resident.
He had been employed in home remodeling, at Hardee's and Robinson's in Fairland.
Mr. Plymate was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fairland.
He loved model cars and collecting butterflies.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, 4666 N. Michigan Road, Fairland, IN.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Pastor Tracy Gross officiating.
Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
