Virgil D. Andis, 94, of Morristown, died Friday, April 15, 2005 at Select Specialty Hospital in Beech Grove.
Born March 22, 1911, he was the son of George M and Ida Belle (Neuman) Andis. He married Lillian S. Wade on Sept. 12, 1936, and she preceded him in death on June 20, 1990.
Mr. Andis is survived by three daughters, Madonna (husband Frank) Willard, of Morristown, Kay (husband Vic) Boring, of New Palestine, and Brenda (husband Gary) Keffaber, of Bloomington; one son, Stephen (wife Cindy) Andis, of Morristown; one sister, Helen Copple, of Fountaintown; 10 grandchildren, Greg Willard, Kevin Willard, Gary Abner, Angie Abner, Eric Nigh, Kelly Woodworth, Ashley Longwell, Gary Joe Keffaber, Kyle Andis and Jordan Andis; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters, by one daughter, Deanna Appleby, by granddaughter Jamie Clarke and by one great-grandchild.
A lifelong resident of Shelby County, Mr. Andis farmed most of his life and retired from Ford in 1976.
He was a member of Morristown Christian Church and a former member of the Oddfellows.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Frazier Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery.
