Virginia "Jenny" Lee Sills

Virginia Lee "Jenny" Sills, 66, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 at Major Hospital. Born April 23, 1943, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Chandis Sills and Clara Mae (Jones) Brewer. Survivors include her brother, Ray (wife, Bonita) Brewer of Manilla; sister, Mary (husband, Gerald) Gilmartin of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Ms. Sills was a lifelong resident of Shelby County and a resident of Heritage House Nursing Home for the past four years, where she 'held court' often and brought joy to all those around her. She was employed at Shares Inc. for a number of years and loved every minute of work. Ms. Sills was a delight to all those around her, always thinking of others. Her famly and friends will cherish the memories of this special lady. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services willb e at 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, 34 W. Washington St., with the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating.
