Virginia O. "Genny" Pence

Virginia O. “Genny” Pence, 92, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville. Born April 24, 1920, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Albert and Verna (Osting) White. She married Fred T. Pence on May 30, 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on May 8, 1986. She is survived by her daughter, Pam E. Pence of West Lafayette. Mrs. Pence was also preceded in death by her parents. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1938. Mrs. Pence was formerly a member of First Presbyterian Church. She retired in 1985 as the secretary to the Superintendent of Shelbyville Central Schools, after 20 years of service. Mrs. Pence enjoyed knitting. Private graveside services will be conducted.
