Warren F. Goodrich, age 61, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, October 17, 2011 at his residence.
Born July 31, 1950, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Franklin and Lucille (Lucas) Goodrich.
Survivors include his daughter, Dara Lynn (fiance', Nick Chesser) Goodrich of Shelbyville; one grandchild on the way; brother, Thomas (wife, Cheryl) Goodrich of Edinburgh; sister, Barbara (husband, Robert) Weaver; and Dara's mother and stepfather, Pat(husband, Larry) Tillison of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Warren graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1968, LaGrange Technical School in 1969 and Tom Henry Electrical Design's continuing education unit.
Mr. Goodrich owned and operated Goodrich Appliances and Electric for more than 40 years and also served as Shelby County Building and Electrical Inspector for 14 years. He had authored and published books and was a professor at Vincennes University and IVY Tech College and was a state-accredited building and electrical code instructor. He had retired in 2007.
He was a member of National Association of Electrical Inspectors and Indiana Teachers Association. He was past director of Shelby County Jaycees and past district commissioner of Boy Scouts of America and past president of Indiana Chapter of Association of Electrical Inspectors.
Warren enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. He also leaves behind his dog, Abby.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm, Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Friday, October 21, 2011 at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
