William C. "Bill" Smith

William C. "Bill" Smith, 74 of Greenfield passed away Friday, September 21, 2007 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. Born August 8, 1933, in Johnson County, he was the son of Earl W. and Elizabeth E. (Bodenreider) Smith. He married Ruthann Smith on September 5, 1954, and she survives. Other survivors include his sons, Earl R. "Rusty" (wife, Barbara) Smith of Joe W. Smith (companion, Pam Jack), both of Greenfield, daughter, Maribeth Ann (husband, Rick) Doughty of Richfield, N.C.; and grandchildren, Naomi Smith, Christopher Smith, Michael Smith, Joe Smith II and Dylan Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Smith was a dairy farmer. He had been a member of the U.S. Army National Guard for 16 years. Mr. Smith had attended Moral Township School. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Girwood officiating. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
