William Frank “Bill” Strotman, 67, of Fairland, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.
He was born on August 12, 1949, in Indianapolis, the son of Frank William and Harriet F. (Hasler) Strotman. On November 7, 1970, he married his wife of 46 years, Barbara Palmer, and she survives.
Bill is also survived by his sister, Suzanne Maurice of Fairland; niece, Randee Taylor and husband, Charles, of Shelbyville; great-nephew, Gregory Taylor and wife, Katie, of Southport; great-nieces, Lauren Taylor and Kristen Taylor, both of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Janet L. Strotman.
Bill graduated from Triton Central High School in 1967.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Bill was a welder for 45 years, working at General Electric/Wellman and Morrell, retiring on November 2, 2015.
He was a member of the Shelby Shifters and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2017, at the funeral home, with Charles Taylor officiating.
Interment will be at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
