William “Gary” Wasson, 67, of Shelbyville passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at Sugar Creek Nursing and Rehab in Greenfield.
He was born March 12, 1951, in Shelbyville, the son of William Noble Jr. and Merle Elaine (Mabe) Wasson.
Gary is survived by his brothers, Marc Wasson of Shelbyville and Steve Wasson of Greenfield; sister, Karen Fenton and husband, Larry, of Manilla; nephews, Travis Wasson and Anthony Fenton; niece, Holly Grizzell and husband, Joe; and great-nephew, Bryton Grizzell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gary graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1969, and attended Indiana University for one year.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he served on the trustee board. He was a former member of DeMolay.
Gary was formerly a cabinet builder for Continental Kitchen and umpired baseball and basketball.
He enjoyed golfing and playing baseball.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Forest Hill Cemetery, 704 Morris Avenue in Shelbyville.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
