William George Rothkopf, 86, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at his residence.
He was born June 15, 1929, in Indianapolis, the son of William John and Donna Lucille (Winkinhoffer) Rothkopf. He married his wife of 63 years, Marilyn Ann Bruns, on October 27, 1951, and she survives.
Other survivors include his niece, Melissa Miller and husband, Trent, of Morristown; nephew, Pete Gambrel and wife, Jennifer of Charlottesville; great-nieces, Brittany Miller and Abbigail Miller; and great-great-niece, Ellie Sue Munden.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
William graduated from High School in 1947 and attended Jordan College of Music for one year.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Greenfield.
William retired from Metropolitan School District of Warren Township School and Herf Jones.
He was a former member of Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, Maennerchor, Lions Club, Hancock Genealogy Society, Lutheran Laymans League and a volunteer at Hancock Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, 200 W. McKenzie Road in Greenfield.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Rev. Dan O’Connor officiating.
Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
