William H. "Bill" Brokering Jr., 66, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Born May 20, 1940, in Shelbyville he was the son of William Harold "Bill" and Mary (Sosbe) Brokering. He married Molliellen "Molly" Amos, and she preceded him in death in April of 2002. He married Jean Ross on Jan. 4, 2003, and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother of Shelbyville; one son, Charles (wife, Jane) Brokering of Shelbyville; one stepdaughter, Annette Ernhart Niece of Greenwood; one stepson, Ted (wife, Sandy) Ernhart of Franklin; one brother, Larry (wife, Meridith) Brokering of Shelbyville; one sister, Susan (husband, William) Southworth of Shelbyville; two granddaughters, April and Christy; four stepgrandchildren, Alexis, Brittany Nichole, Vanessa and Shane; and one great-grandson, James Michael.
He was preceded in death by his father and one son, Stephen Brokering.
Mr. Brokering was a lifelong Shelby County resident.
He was employed with PPG until disabled, retiring in 1976.
Mr. Brokering was a U.S. National Guard veteran.
He graduated in 1959 from Morristown High School.
Mr. Brokering attended Shelbyville Community Church, where he was a member of the Under Construction Group and senior group; and the Franklin Memorial Christian Church.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Larry McAdams and James Farnsley officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
