William J. Goolsby

William J Goolsby, 68, a lifelong Shelby County resident, passed away at 1:27 AM Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. Bill was born February 2, 1943 in Indianapolis, IN to William C. and Inez (Gahimer) Goolsby, both deceased. Bill was married to Marcia Wise Suits for many years, she passed away in 1995. He worked several years for both Ryobi and GE/Wellman in Shelbyville. He attended the Blue Ridge Christian Church, was a 1961 graduate of Waldron High School, a member of the Waldron Masonic Lodge F & AM #217, the Shelbyville Eagles Lodge #766 and very active in both the Rushville & Shelbyville Eagles Riders. He leaves behind his sons, William "Bill" & wife Erin of Fishers, Brent & wife Shawn of Fairland, Jim & wife Penny of Indianapolis, sister, Loletta & husband Mike Hall of Shelbyville, nieces, Diane Connors of Indianapolis, Joan Hall of Greensburg, special friend, Brenda Polston of Shelbyville, grandchildren, Andrea & husband Josh McCurry, Emily, Courtney, Kyle, Christopher & Zoe Goolsby and great grandson, Charlie McCurry. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by an infant sister. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, April 30 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., in Shelbyville, with Rev. Randy Slavens officiating. Friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home from 4 until 8 PM Friday, April 29. Burial will be in the Blue Ridge Cemetery in Shelby County. Friends are invited to ride their motorcycles in procession to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eagle's Riders of Rushville or Shelbyville. Arrangements are being handled by Moster Mortuary, Rushville.
