William Lee “Bill” Jones, Sr., 50, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Elwood.
He was born October 7, 1963, in Shelbyville, the son of Donald Lee Jones and Linda May (Sorrell) Powers.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Rose May Jones of Indianapolis and Courtney Houston and husband, Dakota of Fayetteville, North Carolina; sons, William Lee Jones Jr. and wife, Kayla and Michael Ray Jones of Elwood; stepson, Richard Foxx of Shelbyville; sisters, Lyndora Tindle, Barbara Phillips and husband, Matthew, and Tabitha Savage and husband, Kevin, all of Shelbyville; six grandchildren; fiance, Nancy Black and her children of Elwood; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; and step-father, Clyde Powers.
Bill retired as a truck driver at Knauf, in 2000.
He joined the National Guard and later enlisted in the Navy.
Bill was a NASCAR fan.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his cousin, Ray.
Graveside services will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville at 3 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, friends may gather one half hour prior.
