William Reuel "Bill" Linville

William Reuel “Bill” Linville, 88, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at his residence. He was born May 3, 1928, in Union Township, Shelby County, the son of Luther Chandis and Nola Mariah (Barnard) Linville. On August 10, 1951, he married Luella “Lavaughn” Lee, and she preceded him in death on March 23, 2016. Bill is survived by his sons, Dr. William Kenneth Linville and wife, Debbie, of Corpus Cristi, Texas, Stephen Carson Linville of Indianapolis, and Timothy Duane Linville of Conway, Arkansas; sister, Wilna Rachel Miller of Beech Grove; brother, John Marlan Linville of Morristown; grandchildren, Andrew Linville and wife, Alice, Whitney Linville and significant other, Jeremy Rodman, Caleb Linville, and Kacie Linville and significant other, Cody Morris; and great-grandchildren, Cole Linville, Lincoln Rodman, Emyrsen Morris and Glen Lambeth. He was also preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Esther Joy Linville; brothers, Sharon Emerson Linville and Joseph H. Linville; and a sister, Mary Jean Bennett. Bill was a member of the Wesleyan Church and served as minister in McArthur, Arkansas, Winchester, Indiana, DeWitt, Arkansas, Jamesville, North Carolina, Charleston, Illinois and Hope, Indiana. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Little Blue River Friends Church, 142 South County Road 1000 West in Rush County. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Rev. Mike Linville officiating. Interment will be at Little Blue River Friends Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
