Wilma Jane Adams, 80, of Fairland, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis surrounded by her family.
She was born November 9, 1934, in Parksville, Kentucky, the daughter of Thomas and Reva (Satterly) Coulter. On November 8, 1952, she married her husband of 62 years, Jackie Lee Adams, and he survives.
Wilma is also survived by her daughters, Tina Geyer of Indianapolis, Sherry Neely and husband Bryan, of Knox, and Sheila Sego of Greenwood; brothers, Franklin David Coulter, Sidney Coulter, Thomas Coulter, Billy Coulter, Donald Lee Coulter and Gary Coulter; sisters, Doris Stafford and Anna Margaret Curtis; grandchildren, Holly Gibson, April Allen, Kristina Pollock, John Gibson, Glynn Geyer, Hannah Sego and Daniel Sego; and great-grandchildren, Colten Corley, Brooks Allen and Ethan Allen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers and sisters.
Wilma graduated from Junction City High School in Junction City, Kentucky in 1951.
She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Wilma was formerly a member of Fairland Baptist Church, where she was very active teaching Sunday school and helping in the nursery.
She retired from the United States Postal Service in 1995, serving for 19 years at the Fairland Post Office.
Wilma volunteered for many worthwhile organizations including Major Hospital Breast Cancer Boutique, Good News Club at Triton Central and a clothing pantry at a church in Indianapolis.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 and from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Pastor Donald Wells officiating.
Interment will be at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
