Wilma L. Scott

Wilma L. Scott, 80, of Zionsville, formerly of Morristown, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008. Born February 12, 1928, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Harry S. and Flora (Fuchs) Vaught. She married Dale M. Scott on February 16, 1946, and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1997. Survivors include her daughter, Terry (husband, James) Cridge; stepgrandchildren, Mike Cridge and Matt Cridge; and four great-stepgrandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bernard Vaught; and sister, Betty Gahimer. Mrs. Scott was formerly a paymaster at Fort Benjamin Harrison, retiring on April 30, 1984. She also had been the secretary to the Morristown Town Council. She graduated from Waldron High School in 1945 and took courses at Butler University. Mrs. Scott was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, a book club in Morristown, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and Eastern Star Chapter No. 316. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m Monday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Central Indiana Chapter, 9135 N. Meridian St., Suite B4, Indianapolis, IN 46260
