Winifred M. "Winnie" Bruner

Winifred M. "Winnie" Bruner, 82 of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, August 30, 2007, at Waldron Health Care Home in Waldron. Born September 27, 1924, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Harold and Bernice (Law) LeMasters. She married Gordon O. "Bud" Thurston, and he preceded her in death on February 17, 1962. She married Albert "Turk" Bruner on December 28, 1968 and he survives. Other survivors include her daughters, Beth Alford of Indianapolis and Daylene DeBolt of Shelbyville; sons Gordon Thurston and Anthony Johns, both of Shelbyville; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Paul Watson. Mrs. Bruner lived most of her life in Shelbyville. She was a homemaker an had been employed at the former Cinch Manufacturing Co. and Admiral Plant. Mrs. Bruner was a volunteer with the Shelby County Cancer Association. She had attended Waldron High School. Mrs. Bruner was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and West Street United Methodist Church. Visitaion will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Perry Richards officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shelby County Cancer Association, 126 N. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176
