Yantis A. "Yannie" Spreckelmeyer, 72, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009.
Born August 18, 1936, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Michael and Marlene Rebecca (Fuller) Yarling. She married COL (Retired) Stanley Roy Spreckelmeyer on August 28, 1976, and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2006.
Survivors include her sons, Michael (wife, Dee) Peters and Shane Peters, both of Shelbyville, and Jeffrey Peters of Greenwood; daughter, Pamela (husband, Brian) Moody of Greenwood; brother, Michael Yarling Jr., Raymond (wife, Francis) Yarling and William "Bill" (wife, Donna) Yarling, all of Shelbyville, and Mark Yarling of Greenwood; sisters, Nancy Yarling (husband, Mark) Beck of Greenwood and Brenda Yarling (husband, Doyle) Chaney of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Joseph Peters, Kaleb Johnson, Cole Johnson, Samantha Johnson, Lacy Moody and Cameron Moody.
She also was preceded ind eath by her parents and aunt, Pauline Callahan.
Mrs. Spreckelmeyer had been employed at General Electric for 28 years and was an investment advisor for Financial Network, retiring in 2005.
She graduated from Waldron High School and attended Indiana University-Purdue University, Indiana.
Mrs. Spreckelmeyer was a lifelong member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
She enjoyed gardening, painting and socializing with her friends.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Carmony-Ewing Chapel of Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robb Barlow officiating.
Private graveside services will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
